A day of positive thought in the midst of negative floods...

As both the local and national news flooded my ears and eyes with negative news I found my self seeking out positive aspects. There is so much positive out there.  WE just need to turn up the volume.  Things that weren't covered in today's news...
  • Local families receive meal assistance at several local charities, including Berks County's Opportunity house, Greater Reading Food Bank and the Kennedy house.
  • Reading/Berks Habitat For Humanity has helped over 50 families build their own home.  The families work hard for this privilege putting in 100's of hours of sweat equity even before they know if the home will be theirs.
  • Local farmers, bakers, and butchers participate in several local markets, reducing resource consumption while providing you with fresh, nutritious food!
  • A little boy was made happy when a stranger stopped to speak to him, ask him his name and how he was doing. She spoke to him in a manner that was blind to the fact that he was in a wheelchair and had physical impairments.  The little boy made a new friend.  Every time they passed in the store they stopped to speak and she greeted him by name...
  • Someone smiled at some one having a bad day and changed the course of their entire day.
WE can all take action and do good random things everyday... without seeking recognition or reward... this is what makes it Newsworthy!
